Mission

Children need to feel secure. When there are natural disasters or other traumatic events that occur in a child's life, it helps him to have an anchor to hold on to. This blog is an effort to collect new, handmade, child-sized and baby-sized charity quilts to distribute to displaced or traumatized children of Tuscaloosa County and Jefferson County, Alabama.

Precious Pairs

Three totes came in the mail today from FL to pair with the ME quilts. These are great examples of how canvas or duck cloth purchased totes can be embellished. Thank you, Lynette, for completing these precious pairs.

  1. I've been reading back through your recent posts. Thanks so much for providing pictures of the children who have received the quilts, totes and stuffed toys. I found myself with tears in my eyes reading. But it makes me even more determined to get the quilt I've promised finished. The basting is done, just need to do the quilting and binding. And then the tote bag and toy.

  2. I have two more quilts coming. Blinding pink this time (I had a pink jelly roll that I needed to use up - but how I got stuck with a hot pink jelly roll is another story). Probably will be two weeks before I get them finished.
